As per CBSE, out of the total 7,31,223 appeared candidates, as many as 4,09,477 have qualified for admissions to Under Graduate medical programmes across medical colleges of India. NEET-1 was conducted across 1040 centres in 52 cities in India and abroad, while NEET-2 was conducted at 739 centres in 56 cities in India.

NEET 2016 Toppers:
Het Shah has bagged first position with 685 marks out of 720, while Ekansh Goel and Nikhil Bajiya have secured rank 2 and 3, respectively. The second topper, Ekansh secured 682 marks, while Nikhil scored 678, securing third position in NEET 2016 results.
At All India Rank 5, Arushi emerged as the topper among female candidates with 676 marks. Dyuti Shah and Japnoor Kaur secured rank 6 and 7, respectively. NEET 2016 Merit List:
Based on cut off score of NEET 2016, CBSE will prepare a NEET 2016 Merit list for all the qualified candidates as per their marks range. Marks range means a range of score from the highest to lowest level with a category.
For e.g: In case of last year’s AIPMT Result, for providing admissions under 15% All India Quota seats, 695 was the highest score while 453 was the lowest within the general category. This further means, all the candidates belonging to general category securing between 695 to 453 marks were called for counselling for 15% All India Quota seats.

NEET 2016 Counselling:
As per the merit list and cut off of NEET 2016, candidates will be called for 15% All India Quota seats counselling. The counselling will be conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in two rounds. The online counselling will begin from August 22 to September 20, 2016.
